Delobel and Schönfelder are back on ice in Lyon and although they canceled their GP’s this year I really think they will take part at Euros in January in Talinn to prepare for the Olympics. Isabelle is so strong just a couple of weeks after labor and her son Lois is incredible cute. Good luck to them!
The German ice dancers Nelli Zhiganshina and Alexander Gazsi will train in Oberstdorf under Rostislav Sinizin. Both feel good and are ready to fight back and become Germany’s number 1 Dance pair again. The 2007 national champions lost their title last year to the Herrman siblings. Their long term goal are the Olympics 2014 in Sotchi.
They do not expect to take part in Vancouver next year because Nelli won’t get a German passport until February and because of that they are not allowed to skate for an Olympic spot at the Nebelhorn Trophy. Alex explained how hard and frustrating the last few months were, after they had to leave their former coach Alexander Zhulin. They moved from Moscow to Chemnitz and now to Oberstdorf.
An interview with the French Ice Dancer Pernelle Carron and her new partner Llyod Jones in Lyon. Carron split from her former partner Mathieu Jost in May 2009. I don’t understand exactly everything, but she said that their programs are finished and they work on their consistency for competitions. She talks about her split from Jost, how she met Llyod and how they spent their first time together aswell how fast they realised how similar their way of skating is.
The arrangement of the chosen music should give a genuine feel for folk/country dance. It should be very distant from the feeling of the Grand Ballroom.
Same examples: Village, Square, Street, Barn dance, Hoedown, Mazurka, Polka, Tarantella, Hula (I would love to see that), Hora, Csardas, Kalinka, Gapak, Syrtaky, Scottish, Irish, Jig, Reel, Guajira, Cumbia, Jarabe, Fandango, Aborigines Dance, Chinese dances, Lesginka, CountryWaltz, Flamenco, etc.
On the official Olympics site of the French Fed is a new video interview with Oliver in Lyon. If I am not wrong you can also see Luca Lanotte in the background.
During Isabelle and Oliver’s training you can hear a lot of “Requiem for a Dream”. I really hope it’s not their new FD
The German Ice Dancers Nelli Zhiganshina and Alexander Gazsi are looking for a new coach after they had to leave Alexander Zhulin, because the DEU (German Federation) did not want to pay their coach anymore. They returned from Moscow back to Chemnitz to join the athletic training under Ingo Steuer and his pairs. On ice they train on their own with help from ballet coach Siegmund Schwarze.
Alex: “It’s a temporary solution but we don’t want to lose time and want to train and stay fit to compete again.”
