Lindemann at the Nebelhorn Trophy

June 29, 2009

German skater Stefan Lindemann (28) wants to participate at the Nebelhorn Trophy in September to qualify for the Olympics in Vancouver.

After a long lasting injury at his adductor muscles the Lindemann, the 2004 world bronze medalist is back in training and choreographed his new programs already in April including all triple jumps.

“I am on a good way and I want to get the Nebelhorn spot…”

In July there will be a test between Lindemann and his Berlin training colleague Clemens Brummer, but the focus of the German federation is on Lindemann, as he is able to jump a triple Axel. The current German national champion Peter Liebers is definitely out for the Nebelhorn Trophy due to his broken metatarsus.

Can’t wait to see it

News from Chemnitz

June 12, 2009

World Pairs champion Aljona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy train everyday to be ready for the Nebelhorn Trophy in September. Next week in Japan at “Dreams on Ice” they already plan to skate their NEW SHORT PROGRAM :D I guess we can hear (and see of course) some parts of it in the video below… looks promising. They still want to keep their new Long Program secret.

“It will be something new, wonderful and very special. We don’t want to talk much about it yet but again (like Schindler’s List) it will be a composition especially for Aljona and Robin.”

Liebers out for Nebelhorn Trophy?

June 12, 2009

German skater Peter Liebers may miss the Olympics 2010 due to injury. The 21 year old soldier from Berlin broke his metatarsus during an army march in the forest.

“I fell over a root and now I have to wait if I will be able to compete in Oberstdorf.”

Peter missed the direct qualification for the Olympics at this year Worlds in Los Angeles just because of less than a half point after the Short Program. If he won’t be fit enough to fight for his Olympic ticket in Oberstdorf his Berlin training colleague Clemens Brummer or Stefan Lindenmann will attend the Nebelhorn Trophy, as only one German skater is allowed to compete.

Too bad for Peter but anyway I would love to see Stefan back on track :D
